در سال 2012 اتفاق بسیار مهمی در تاریخچه دیتا پروژکتور PANASONIC رخ داد. در این سال کمپانی سانیو که خود یکی از خوشنام ترین و معتبرترین تولید کنندگان ویدئوپروژکتور محسوب می شد و در میان کاربران قدیمی و حرفه ای طرفداران پر و پا قرصی داشت، توسط شرکت پاناسونیک خریداری و در آن ادغام شد. هر چند پاناسونیک و سانیو از ابتدای امر نیز هم خانواده و فامیل محسوب می شدند ولی می توان گفت این وصلت تا حدی کاربران سنتی ویدیو پروژکتورهای سانیو را بر آشفت.
به هر شکل پاناسونیک با این ادغام به NEW PANASONIC تبدیل شد. با ظاهری همچون سانیو ساده و بی ادعا و البته کیفیت تصویر مطلوب. قیمت ویدئو پروژکتور پاناسونیک نیز نسبت به گذشته رقابتی تر شد تا بتواند در بازار جدید در برابر رقبای سرسخت عرض اندام بهتری داشته باشد.
یکی از ویژگیهای این نام تولید دیتا پروژکتور در مدلهای متنوع است. پروژکتورهای پاناسونیک در شدت روشنایی های مختلف تولید می گردد و دست کاربران را برای خرید در دسته بندی های پرتابل، آموزشی، سینمای خانگی و سالنی باز می گذارد. مدلهای بزرگ و سینمایی پاناسونیک با ورودی و خروجی های کامل مورد پسند حرفه ای هاست. همچنین مدلهای وایرلس و مجهز به ورودی HDMI و نیز ویدئو پروژکتور هوشمند که مورد توجه دست اندر کاران طرح هوشمند سازی مدارس است، در تولیدات پاناسونیک لحاظ گردیده است.
